On June 24, 2022, a fire broke out in the 8-meter space of the continuous casting workshop of a steelmaking plant. The electric control box for temperature collection of two-strands steel breakout prediction, 6 long thermocouple cables of the inner and outer arcs, and the communication cables were all burned out. The accident caused the shutdown of two-strands steel breakout prediction system. The situation was very critical, but the fire was put out by the steel mill.

After the accident, our maintenance personnel actively cooperated with the steel mill to return to the production, and fully undertake the task of restoring two-strands steel breakout prediction system. Our company organized all staff to work overtime, and successively completed: the assembly and testing of the temperature acquisition electric control box, the laying and connection of the communication cable between the acquisition module and the repeater, and the laying of the long cable of the inner and outer arc thermocouples of the mold, etc.
