Position: Continuous Casting Worker
Before--
During the 8-hour working period of traditional continuous casters, they need to perform unsteady-state operations and continuous monitoring in front of the machine. Therefore, they need to face high temperatures of 60-70°C in summer and low temperatures in winter. They work in extreme temperatures and harsh environments for a long time. While production efficiency has been greatly improved, labor intensity has also increased significantly. To reduce employee labor intensity, unmanned transformation of the machine front is imperative.
Now--
The plant's three continuous casting operation areas quickly established a research team. Through independent research and development and editing of the computer language system, all the original machine front operating screens and related handheld interface points were centralized and controlled in the main control room, and at the same time, the continuous casting mold liquid level was increased. The monitoring system is remotely transmitted to the main control room. At present, the system transformation has been completed, allowing operators to complete the full-process monitoring function of continuous casting in the main control room at other times except for steady-state operations. The time for personnel to be exposed to high temperature, dust, and noise on site has been reduced from the original 8 hours to an average of 50 minutes. For the carbon steel unit, a new lounge will be built on both sides of the double flow of the 3# and 4# machines, and a continuous casting billet surface monitoring system, a mold liquid level real-view monitoring system, a front-end OS1 disk, and an expert system screen monitoring system will be added in the lounge.
Employee feelings——
After the implementation of this measure, in addition to ensuring that the temperature of the working environment is normal no matter whether it is hot or cold weather, it also realizes the monitoring function of operators in the rest room and in front of the machine. The time that personnel are exposed to high temperature, dust, and noise on site has been reduced from the original time. 8h reduced to less than 2h.
